Snowshoe Season has Begun

on

[JANUARY2024] Winter finally arrived here, mid-way through January, courtesy of several days of snow squalls off Lake Huron.

There’s no more running after squirrels for my pup Luna, a mid-sized dog, who now must either plow through the snow, or try to leap over it like a bunny lol. Or when she’s really tired out, she follows in my showshoe tracks.

The forest looks beautiful with all the recent snowfall. The SoundForest is feeling particularly magical… I have guests staying in the cabin for their anniversary and they spent a chunk of yesterday afternoon out there. And the Forest Labyrinth, though covered in show, has been tracked out so it’s obvious to follow. Gloriously peaceful!

If you don’t have your own snowshoes, I have a couple loaner pairs for guest use which I leave at the cabin. Come enjoy a winter wonderland in 50 acres of private, peaceful forest.
